Press Release: HELM AG sells HELM Medical GmbH subsidiary
HELM AG sells its fully owned subsidiary HELM Medical GmbH to Sanavita Pharmaceuticals GmbH, a Braun Group company.
Hamburg, Germany / 19 September 2017
The further development of HELM Medical GmbH is a priority within this transaction. For HELM AG a prerequisite of the negotiations was that Sanavita GmbH takes over the entire HELM Medical workforce and guarantees their jobs for three years.
Bernd Stoiber, Member of the HELM AG Executive Board and Executive Director Pharma, explains the decision: “The Pharma business unit has changed very significantly in recent years. Within this we became aware that there were less and less achievable synergies between the HELM Pharma business unit and HELM Medical. With the sale to Sanavita Pharmaceuticals GmbH we are ensuring that HELM Medical, with its specialisation in medical products, can develop further. I am very pleased that as a family company, Sanavita has very similar values to HELM and intends to develop both HELM Medical and its employees further.”
Describing the agreement, Frank Köhler, Sanavita Pharmaceuticals GmbH CEO, says: “We were convinced by HELM Medical GmbH’s service spectrum and product range. With this acquisition we are bringing in medical products that complement our existing portfolio very well. Sanavita already sells pharmaceutical products in many countries, and by acquiring HELM Medical we will now also be able to supply our partners with medical products. We are very much looking forward to working with our new colleagues, whose expertise will be a great contribution to Sanavita.”
