Hamburg, Germany, 09. June 2020

Effective June 01, 2020, HELM AG will take over the distribution for the company Tronox in Germany. The entire product range, consisting of different titanium dioxide pigments is exclusively marketed under the brand name TiONA®.

Christian Witt, global product manager for titanium dioxide (TiO2) at HELM, Business Unit Derivatives, underlines the importance of the agreement:
"We are pleased to have a reliable titanium dioxide supplier with Tronox for long-term collaboration and to take over the distribution in Germany. The broad product portfolio offers many growth opportunities for our partnership. With its global production sites and the extraction of raw materials in own mines, we see Tronox well prepared for the future.”

TiO2 is used in particular as a white pigment in the paint and coatings industry, the plastics and paper sector, and printing inks. As the brightest known pigment, it offers protection against UV radiation in addition to lightening power and outstanding opacity. In the form of nanomaterial, titanium dioxide can serve as a photocatalyst and reduce environmental influences.
