By turning a Representative Office into a company in its own right, HELM is pursuing its strategy of growing its presence in South East Asia. The incorporation facilitates HELM’s entry into Thailand’s lucrative chemicals market of over 16 million tonnes, as well as secondary markets including Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.

HELM Thailand supports HELM’s local and international business partners in successfully reaching the local Thai market. Together with HELM’s Asian Head Office in Singapore, the new company strengthens our support for the South East Asian core markets. HELM’s aim has always been to connect chemical producers with the industry, leveraging our global presence. As an export-orientated economy, Thailand is especially attractive to the chemicals industry, since it has the 2nd´ largest GDP in South East Asia, just behind Indonesia. Thailand is home to key manufacturing industries in the automotive, electronics and electrical, textile and garments sectors, as well as in agriculture.

Axel Viering, Member of the HELM Executive Board and responsible for the Business Line Chemicals, is confident that HELM Thailand will open up great business opportunities: ‘With this new addition to the HELM Asia family we have profoundly strengthened our foundations for successfully expanding our chemicals business into the South East Asia markets.’
