Vinyl acetate monomer is a colourless liquid with a sweet odour. It is made from the raw materials ethylene, acetic Acid and oxygen. VAM has a tendency to polymerise spontaneously. For this reason, it is stabilised using hydroquinone in quantities specified by the customer. Examples of applications

Vinyl Acetate Monomer serves as the basis for numerous products of daily life. As a polyvinyl acetate (PVA), it is used for the production of dispersions for the construction industry as well as a component of adhesives. As polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) it is found in films for mobile phones and flat screens, as binders in the paint and varnish sector and also as a coating of textiles and paper. As a polyvinyl butyral (PVB), it plays an important role in the production of laminated safety glass for the automotive industry. Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is used in the manufacture of shoes and solar cells.
