Compliance

As a global company, we carry responsibility. Towards our customers and investors, our teams and the public and – last but not least – towards the environment.

This responsibility includes compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal guidelines and rules. We are jointly responsible for ensuring that all employees know and follow our Code of Conduct. The aim is to maintain our integrity, mutual respect and transparency.

Code of conduct

The HELM Code of Conduct sets out the basic principles and compliance rules that we act in accordance with at HELM.

 

Environment

As an employer, HELM attaches great importance to equal rights, diversity, and fair and respectful interaction with one another. We expect our employees to behave accordingly at all times.

Fairness

We guarantee that our wages are at least in line with the statutory or industry-specific pay scale. We comply with the applicable labour law regulations at every location.

Compatibility

As a family-owned company, we help to increase the satisfaction and motivation of our employees – and therefore also the performance of our company – through family-friendly offers.

Health Protetction

We provide a safe working environment for our employees and ensure the protection of both physical and mental health – at all our locations.

Prevention

The prevention of accidents has our utmost attention and is expressed with the "Goal ZERO" initiative. The focus here is on the safety of production facilities and transport channels – to protect people and the environment.

Plant Safety

Our plants, production lines and materials are valuable assets. It is our responsibility to handle them with care and to protect them from damage, improper use or misuse.

Responsible Care

We want to contribute to the more careful use of resources and therefore participate in the global "Responsible Care" initiative. We are committed to continuous improvement in the areas of the environment, safety and health, regardless of applicable regulations.

Environmental protection

Protecting the environment is an integral part of our corporate strategy. We attach great importance to compliance with local environmental protection laws and international regulations that apply to all our sites – and expect the same from all our business partners.

Personal responsibility

Our employees contribute to the sustainability of our company. This relates to the reduction of waste and our own energy consumption at the workplace.

Whistleblower system

We have installed a whistle-blower system across all locations. This is a protected IT environment. Employees and outsiders who wish to report a possible violation can reach the system via various channels and submit a report there. These tips can also be submitted anonymously if desired.

Reporting channels

There are many different reasons why a person may wish to submit a report to us. They may have observed violations of the law or unethical behaviour, want to avert damage to our company by making a report or have themselves become a victim of misconduct. Whatever the reason, the following reporting options are available:

Helmline

Messages via HELMLINE go directly into our system. The reporting person can remain anonymous if desired. As part of the entry process, the person receives a unique case number that they can use to find out the processing status.

Compliance department

All employees can contact the Corporate Compliance department directly at any time with questions and information on possible violations.

Personal contacts

Employees – as well as external parties – can report questions about the Code of Conduct and indications of possible misconduct directly to their personal contacts and union representatives

Good to know

We encourage employees to express themselves freely and without fear at all times. We ensure that whistle-blowers are protected from any disadvantages. All information will always be treated confidentially.
